Same sex marriage and procreation
Today, same-sex marriage is an important issue which brings many debates to the society in terms of ethics and morality. I think that marriage is a legal act and it does not change in the heterosexual marriage or homosexual one. As Wedgwood mentioned, both of type of marriage has legal rights in terms of economy and social benefits. However, with this type of marriage, procreation issue is appeared. We knew that one of the aims of heterosexual marriage is the procreation. ( in general and for society). With out it, many countries will suffer accordingly and in these countries, population of elders will increase as we see in the today’s most developed countries. In my opinion, homo sexual marriage can be for only minority maybe but it can contribute to this situation and threaten to existence of next generation.

In Tiny Smiling Daddy story, typical father- his daughter relationship was reflected. In this relationship, miscommunication and breaking the family bonds especially between Kitty and her parents was seen. I think that, this kind of conflict may come from her childhood especially the specific event of taking ethics and morality from parents. Maybe, it is a typical example of generalization but we can say that if parents can give good ethics and morality to their child, in adulthood, this child will become good person and he/she can get along with his/her parents. Now to return relationship in this story, we may say that behaviors of Kitty reflect her morality which did not come from her parent (maybe gained from real life but not from family). I mean that she did not take any morality from her parents especially form her father.

Where are you going, where have you been?” is a typical story which reflects the result of youth subculture. I mean that writer try to draw a picture of sub youth culture with the help using character Arnold Friend (who was the most common example of this culture in the terms of his talking and style) , music and its effects. I think that text title symbolizes the changes in American society especially among youth population. Maybe, with this title, writer aims that readers start to think about 1960’s American society and changes in this society especially development of sub youth culture. Also , she attracted attention of reader about how this change reflect to the youth culture of America
Uncategorized | Comment (1)Do you think that it is possible for a child to really to know one’s parents? Explain
I think that it’s possible for a child to really know one’s parents. Maybe, many children think that I know my father or mother very well because they live together in the same place and spend their most of time to their parents. With this feeling, each child advocates that he/she knows all the ways of his/her parents if compared to other relatives or friends of these parents. However, if they start to grow, they understand the reality. They recognize the truth which related to knowing their parents. As in the reality, each child knows only the physical appearance of his/her parents well. However, they don’t know their parents’ inner world because parents always not try to show their stress and boredoms to their children. With it, they don’t affect their children negatively because, in general, they like their children and they don’t want to break their motivation. As a result of these conditions, we can’t easily say that each child knows one’s parents very well in the terms of parents’ psychology.
Uncategorized | Comment (1)Is plagiarism the same type of stealing as music piracy?
Today, many people prefer to download music or buy copy CDs from hawkers because these ways are cheaper and easier than buying legal original music CDs or downloading copyrighted music from Internet. Basically, it knows as a one type of stealing and making music piracy which similar to make plagiarism. In other words, in music piracy, people steal others labor and violate intellectual property fact as same as plagiarize others works.
With downloading music illegally, people can steal others labor. In this situation, they don’t pay the fee for each artist’s labor. Then, illegal music downloading becomes a typical type of stealing. In plagiarism issue, each writer uses the some parts of others’ works and creates his/her own work. With it, he or she steals these artists’ labor and use it for his/her purposes. ( O’Rourke,2007 pg.1). If compared to stealing as music piracy, same type of event is seen because in this event people steal artists’ labor as same as plagiarize others’ work and using it for their purpose. However, without any paying, they don’t care the time or effort which was given by artists. In the same way, some of the writers do the same thing with copying some parts of other works.
Stealing as a music piracy can violate intellectual property as same as plagiarism. Today, many people buy music CDs or books and they think that they are physical items only. However, in reality these CDs or books are not only physical items. Each of them has own intellectual property and protected by rights.(Moore, pg.3) On the other hand, each basic writing or essay has intellectual property too because each of them are created by only one person’ opinions and effort. However if other person use it without make any citation and just copy some parts of this essay, he/she will violate the intellectual property of this work. In other words, he/she uses it without caring intellectual property or writers’ effort. As similar to music piracy, illegal music download in the terms of making music piracy can violate the intellectual property of each artist’s song.
To sum up, music piracy overlaps with plagiarism issue in many ways. In this type of piracy, people don’t respect the labor which was given by each artist and violate the intellectual property. These issues can be seen in basic plagiarism event too. If each person, who tries to make her/his own work, plagiarizes other works, he/she will commit same things which are seen in music piracy.
